Pleasant Spring Evening in Boston

Wednesday evening I went to Boston for a chamber music concert (violin and piano), preceded by dinner at Scollay Square.

Dinner was good. Since it wasn't a Friday, I could try the kobe beef meatballs, and the short ribs. Both were tasty. My favorite waiters weren't there, but that was okay.

When I left the restaurant at about 7:30, it was a little before sunset. I strolled over Beacon Hill. The trees lining the streets were in bloom, and I had the feeling that it is the most beautiful time of the year in Boston. And twilight, with the light filtering through the green of the trees, is the most beautiful time of the day, in my opinion. Temperatures were mild, and any breeze was gentle. In another month, when the trees have fully leafed out, it will still be very beautiful, but it won't be quite as perfect. I wished the visitor who will come from Pennsylvania next month could have been here to see it last evening.

I'm planning to go into Boston for an opera tomorrow. I'll try to remember to take my camera and go early enough to get some pictures to show you what I'm talking about.
