Trump — Yikes!

Now that it seems almost certain that Donald Trump will be the Republican nominee for President, I'm very dismayed.

1.) I still don't think he's fit to be President. He's ignorant about major issues facing the country. He's ignorant of the Constitution and dismissive of its requirements. He envisions himself as a dictator, not a president. He's self-absorbed. He's unprincipled. He's a bigot and a sexist.

2.) His candidacy at the top of the ticket will be used, unfairly, by the Democrats to tar Republican candidates for other offices. This could lead to the defeat of candidates for Senator and Congressman, which in turn could cause the GOP to lose our majority in the Senate and maybe even in the House.

3.) His highly probable defeat means not only that Democrats will control the executive branch of the federal government, but that the Democratic president will nominate Supreme Court justices.


Thus, Trump's candidacy appears to be a disaster for the GOP and the United States, whether he wins or loses.
