Ash Wednesday/Lent

Rather than try to write something useful, I recommend you take a look at Rev. Austin Fleming's blog. He's the pastor of a church not too far from where I live.

He has been blogging up a storm about Ash Wednesday and Lent these past few days, and he made a post in which he listed and linked all his recent posts on the subject. Check it out if you want some ideas, or if you're wondering what all the fuss is about with Mardi Gras and Ash Wednesday.

There is a later post which I hope you'll read. He quotes an article about current conditions in Haiti, and intersperses the Catholic Church's rules for Lent. Compared with what people have to live every day, what we're asked to do for Lent seems pretty mild.
