Listening to the Boston Symphony Orchestra concert from Tanglewood on radio while watching the Red Sox on TV with the sound turned down.


Edited to add: Red Sox won 7-1. The final out of the game was on a ground ball to third, and the last note of the Beethoven Third Symphony was sounded simultaneously with the first base umpire making the "out" sign as the throw from Lowrie reached Gonzalez's glove before the St. Louis runner reached the base. Can you believe it — as radio announcer Joe Castiglione would say.

BTW, the Beethoven symphony was easier to pay attention to while watching the game than were the earlier pieces on the concert, the Schoenberg Chamber Symphony No. 1 and the Schumann Piano Concerto.
